2008 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir
2008 was a vintage which has received much praise, and rightly so. It was a cool summer, with a nail-biting September which was fortunately followed by a glorious October that remained sunny and dry pretty much through Halloween. The resulting grapes were beautifully, naturally well balanced. Sugars were around 24 Brix with wonderful flavor development. The wines have the elegance and nuance that I love about the 2007 vintage but they have a little more fruit and suppleness.
